The Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA), an ALA affiliate, participated in the 2011 Poster Session at the Diversity and Outreach Fair to showcase its mission, programs, and services for diverse audiences of all ages. The presentation highlighted CALA’s library advocacy, family literacy initiatives, Mail-A-Book service for the homebound, and global outreach efforts. CALA representatives staffed the poster location to interact with visitors and answer questions. The project aimed to broaden CALA’s visibility and create more opportunities to serve a wider community. It received the Second Prize Poster Award at the Diversity and Outreach Fair.
