Abstract

This white paper explores the current needs of and barriers in leadership for Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) library workers. Leadership comes in different approaches and as formal or informal roles. The white paper examines a sample of APIA library workers interested in leadership development, and their participation in the Virtual National Forum (January 2022) and Webinar Series (March – May 2022). By analyzing data collected from the application survey, forum experiences, and final evaluation, the white paper will share results and key themes that highlight APIA library worker’s interests and challenges in leadership development.
