BIBFRAME Experiment: Exploring the Transition to Linked Data

Title

BIBFRAME Experiment: Exploring the Transition to Linked Data

Description

This presentation shares BIBFRAME experiments conducted at the University of Central Florida Libraries as part of ongoing efforts to explore the transition from MARC to linked data. It introduces BIBFRAME and Sinopia, reviews national and local BIBFRAME activities, and demonstrates exploratory work using both Sinopia and the Alma/Primo sandbox environments. The talk outlines how BIBFRAME Instance and Work data can be created and viewed, highlights how BIBFRAME data displays in Sinopia and Primo, and examines how author and title information are handled in a linked data context. The session offers insights into tool functionality, metadata structure, and early considerations for staff training and workflow adaptation.
