Embedded librarianship has been one of the core practices of the library profession that academic librarians have successfully used to develop and strengthen collaborative relationships within their subject areas. This approach has proven to be effective for providing information literacy instruction in a more personalized way, allowing instruction librarians to better meet changing user information needs. This poster details the process of designing and implementing a set of customized library instruction activities tailored to the needs of Social Work students at a medium-sized academic library in northwest United States. Specifically, this poster demonstrates how the subject librarian enhanced library instruction using the principles of transparent teaching, an instructional philosophy that focuses on developing students understanding of how and why they learn.
