Title

Report of the ALCTS Role of Professional Librarian in Technical Services Interest Group Meeting. American Library Association Midwinter Meeting, Atlanta, January 2017.

Description

This article highlighted three presentations given at the ALCTS Role of Professional Librarians in Technical Services Interest Group Meeting at the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting in Atlanta in January 2017. These presentations successfully covered various types of libraries including big academic libraries, mid-sized university libraries, and small college libraries. The presenters offered a wide range of perspectives on collaborations and partnerships between library technical services departments and other library departments. This was especially true for smaller libraries, as they are struggling through the budget cuts while trying to maintain a balance among personnel, workload, and outreach. We are sure our audience had some valuable takeaways from this program and some fresh ideas to take back to their libraries and administrators.
