Abstract
This lightning talk presents a scrappy, replicable model for launching a library podcast with no dedicated budget, no recording studio, and no playbook — just cross-team collaborations, community partnerships, and the commitment to take it one episode at a time. J. Faye Yuan, curator and podcast host at the Queens Memory Project, shares how centering the voices of climate-impacted communities in Queens became both the heart of the work — and the key to figuring out everything else, including the money. Drawing on real lessons from production to outreach and community engagement, the project offers a transferable template for any library considering a podcast but unsure where to start. Attendees will leave with concrete strategies for funding creatively, building cross-departmental buy-in, and launching sustainably one episode at a time.
