Strengthening Libraries in a Changing World: Advancing Inclusive and Culturally Responsive Services at Thomas Crane public library
Subject
Description
This poster presents how Thomas Crane Public Library (TCPL) in Quincy, Massachusetts—home to a rapidly growing Chinese immigrant population—has developed culturally responsive programs to address language and access barriers. Drawing on community feedback and staff insights, TCPL implemented multilingual services, bilingual programs for all age groups, and cross-departmental collaborations to support cultural identity, social connection, and equitable access. Early outcomes show high engagement, especially through Chinese-language tours and book clubs. This work offers a replicable model for public libraries seeking to build inclusive, community-centered services in response to demographic change.
