Chinese American Librarians’ Contributions Across the Knowledge Lifecycle
Description
This project proposes a curated CALASYS collection that documents the contributions of Chinese American librarians across the knowledge lifecycle in academic libraries—from teaching and learning to knowledge creation and dissemination.
The collection focuses on three interconnected areas: information literacy, AI-enhanced teaching, and scholarly communication. These areas are intentionally selected because they represent a continuum of academic library work: how students learn to engage with information, how emerging technologies are transforming that engagement, and how knowledge is ultimately created, shared, and preserved.
The collection will be developed through a combination of curated open access materials, publicly available professional resources, and selected community-contributed works by Chinese American librarians. Drawing on my experience in information literacy, AI-integrated instruction, and repository development, this project will bring together both scholarly outputs and applied professional materials that are often dispersed or underrepresented in formal
archives, making CALASYS an essential platform for their preservation and discovery.
