The CALA Assessment and Evaluation Committee undertook the charge of exploring the possibility of creating a more streamlined committee structure through reducing the number of committees from the CALA President. This poster offers a comprehensive analysis of our findings, drawing insights from a comparative review of CALA and five other ALA Affiliate associations. Specifically, the Assessment and Evaluation Committee examined the websites of AILA, APALA, REFORMA, BCALA, and PALA, focusing particularly on their committee structures. Key observations and themes are identified to inform our review of the CALA committee structure.
This poster outlines the current committee structure, methodology, key findings, and strategic recommendations for streamlining operations, enhancing volunteer engagement, and aligning committee activities with our strategic goals. Strategic recommendations include restructuring certain committees, enhancing efficiency, and implementing best practices will also be presented in this poster. In addition to our analysis and recommendations, we discuss future considerations and next steps for our committee's ongoing efforts.
By offering strategies and insights for optimizing committee configurations, our findings aim to provide valuable guidance not only for CALA but also for other library associations seeking to enhance their efficiency and success in committee operations.
