Electronic Resources Handling from Aleph Migration to ALMA Implementation at the University of Iowa Libraries

Title

Electronic Resources Handling from Aleph Migration to ALMA Implementation at the University of Iowa Libraries

Subject

Description

The goal of Alma implementation for electronic resources is to integrate electronic resources (e.g. portfolios, packages, or databases) in the integrated library systems, local electronic resources management processes and SFX link resolver into one unified system – Alma.

This presentation describes the strategic direction that the University of Iowa Libraries will take to handle the migration of 2 million electronic resources from Aleph to Alma under the leadership of ALMA Project Team, and the collaboration of Alma Implementation Teams, particularly Metadata Management Team and Acquisitions Team within the Libraries. As we seek advices from peer-institutions during the migration, attendees can leverage the experience and lessons learned from the University of Iowa Libraries’ ALMA implementation of electronic resources.
