Initial BIBFRAME 2.0 Modeling for the Library Information Spotlight “Opera Planet”

Title

Initial BIBFRAME 2.0 Modeling for the Library Information Spotlight “Opera Planet”

Description

With the rapid change in technology and connectivity, it has become necessary for libraries to have a revamp. A library is no longer just a catalog of books, newspapers and other reading or viewing materials. We wish to create a connected website for a library that leverages the state-of-art Semantic Web standards and technologies available today, a linked open data online library for operas. Our work is inspired by a previous project by Boston University Libraries, built on top of BIBFRAME 1.0. We intend to extend this further with the BIBFRAME 2.0 model and vocabulary, and create an extensively linked list of cataloging records of various formats for an opera representing the information spotlight of the Opera Planet on the Web.
