The exponential growth in technology, globalization and diversity in the recent decades have had a profound impact on our profession. In librarianship, a successful career can be defined by more than one dimensions, in addition to conventional benchmarks such as administrative positions, prestigious institutions and higher wages. So what are these dimensions and how to pave your way for a satisfactory and fulfilling career at any stage of life?
Please join this year’s CALA Panel Discussion, moderated by the incoming CALA President and presented by well-known CALA members with various experiences and pathways. The panelists include a highly accomplished dean from an ARL, a middle manager and mentor from a midsize academic library, a public librarian who has built an impressive network, and a young librarian with rich background in public and academic libraries across the world. Each will share their experience and perspectives on how they have cultivated their paths to success and fulfillment.
